Razer is billing its new Huntsman V3 Pro Low-Profile Tenkeyless 8KHz as the world's first low-profile analog optical esports keyboard, and it might also qualify as the keyboard with the longest product name. If not, it certainly has to be a close second. Either way, this $229.99 wired deck combines shallow key travel with Razer's fastest analog switch hardware.

The result is a compact tenkeyless footprint designed for competitive gamers who want low-latency response without the wrist strain or tall key height of traditional mechanical boards. I don't fall into either category—I'm more of a laid-back old-school adventure gamer, and not personally a fan of low-profile keys—but for those who do, there are some compelling features here.

Powering the board are Razer's new low-profile analog optical switches. Despite a shallow total travel distance of just 2.8mm, these switches support full actuation height customization ranging from a hair-trigger 0.1mm down to 2.8mm in precise 0.1mm increments.

"Combined with Rapid Trigger Mode, keys reset instantly based on movement rather than a fixed reset point, enabling faster repeated inputs and greater control during high-intensity gameplay," Razer says.

It also features 'True 8,000Hz HyperPolling', meaning it is capable of reporting inputs to your PC at a blistering 8,000 times per second. Between the hyper-fast polling rate and Razer's new switches, the peripheral maker claims an average latency of just 0.39ms, saying that's a 52% advantage over the nearest competing keyboard tested.

Physically, the keyboard stands just 19.5mm high at the front edge, keeping wrist angles flat and presumably comfortable during extended gaming sessions.

Razer is also touting 'Advanced Input Control', a feature it first introduced with the Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz line. It's basically a suite of hardware and software features including Snap Flex (enables two actions to be assigned to a single key), Dynamic Keystroke (maps up to four actions to a single keystroke based on actuation depth), and Dual-Keypress Priority (protects against accidental key presses).

Other highlights include lubricated switches paired with thick internal foam damping, textured doubleshot PBT keycaps, and a dedicated dial for volume and analog switch settings.

"The Huntsman V3 Pro Low-profile Tenkeyless 8KHz takes everything competitive players love about our flagship analog optical switches and brings it into a slimmer, more ergonomic form factor," said Barrie Ooi, Head of PC Gaming Division at Razer. "For years, low-profile meant trading away performance for comfort. This keyboard ends that trade-off, delivering the speed, control, and precision elite players demand, and it’s already proven itself on the championship stage."

Razer's Huntsman V3 Pro Low-profile Tenkeyless 8KHz is available now at Amazon and direct from Razer.
