New iMac Released

It seems that our speculation yesterday about the new iMac being close to release was correct; Today Apple rolled out their updated and more industrial design for the iMac.

Not all of the rumors and speculation was on target, but the good news is that things are even better than expected.  To start with, there are no 512MB options, nor are there any integrated graphics.  That’s right, even the low-end $1,199 20” iMac comes with 1GB of RAM and a Radeon 2400 XT with 128MB of video memory.

Considering all the hardware Apple has managed to squeeze into the new iMacs, the starting price of $1,199 actually seems like a reasonable deal.

The sleek new aluminum exterior design is certainly a departure from the white plastic of the last few generations of iMacs.
