New HP ProBooks Targeted at SMBs, Intel Haswell and AMD APUs Inside
There aren’t yet detailed specifications available, but the notebooks will feature Intel and AMD chips, most likely of the Haswell and APU variety, respectively. The HP ProBook 400 Series will run Windows 8 and come in 13.3-, 14-, 15.6-, and 17.3-inch display sizes with a hybrid hard drive option, 4G LTE and WWAN, HP Client Security. They’re also Skype-ready with a webcam and DTS Sound+ and include USB 3.0 and Intel’s WiDi technology.

The HP 200 Series looks to be about as basic as it gets, which is to say that customers can have a baseline but effective laptop that offers 14- and 15.6-inch display sizes, preinstalled multimedia software and features, HDMI connectivity, Altec Lansing speakers, and Windows 8. It also sports HP 3D DriveGuard to protect from damage from bumps and drops.

Availability for both series of notebooks is coming this month, and the starting prices are mercifully low--the HP ProBook 400 Series starts at $499, while HP 200 Series notebooks start at a meager $249.
