HP Rolls Out New Pavilion and Pavilion Gaming Notebooks And Desktops
HP has unveiled a completely refreshed line of laptops and desktops for normal users and for gamers in the Pavilion family. Among the new offerings is the Pavilion Laptop 15 packing a 8th gen Intel Core i5-8250U processor, 15.6-inch FHD IPS BrightView WLED touchscreen, 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB 5400 rpm SATA HDD. Graphics are via Intel UHD 620 and the machine has a B&O Play audio system. The new Pavilion 14 has the same Core i5-8250U processor, a 14-inch FHD screen with IPS BrightView micro-edge WLED, and 8GB of RAM. Storage for that machine is a 256GB M.2 SSD with Intel UHD Graphics and B&O Play audio.
HP has also rolled out the Pavilion x360 Convertible 15 that packs a 15-inch screen into a 14-inch chassis. That screen is a 15.6-inch FHD IPS micro-edge WLED multi-touch enabled unit with edge-to-edge glass. The CPU is the Core i5-8250U that is found in the other new HP notebooks we have talked about. The machine has 1TB of internal storage via a 5400 rpm SATA HDD. Next is the Pavilion x360 14 has an 8th generation Core i3-8130U CPU under the hood and a 14-inch SVA micro-edge WLED-backlit multitouch edge-to-edge glass screen with 1366 x 768 resolution. X360 14 buyers get 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage.
The standard Pavilion Desktop 590 uses a 7th generation AMD A9-9425 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 1TB 7200 RPM hard drive. Graphics are handled by AMD Radeon R5 GPU and the machine has a DVD writer and all the connectivity you expect with a desktop.
On the Pavilion Gaming side of things, there are desktops, laptops, and a very cool HP Pavilion Gaming 32 HDR Display. The first is the Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690 packing an AMD Ryzen 3 2200G processor, 8GB of RAM, 1TB of HDD storage, and graphics are via an AMD Radeon RX 550 with 4GB of GDDR5 RAM. The Pavilion Gaming Desktop 790 uses an Intel Core i5-8400 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card.
The first of the gaming laptops is the Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 with an Intel Core i5-8300H processor, a 15.6-inch FHD IPS anti-glare micro-edge WLED-backlit screen, 8GB of RAM, and 16GB of Intel Optane memory. Storage is a 1TB HDD and graphics are via NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB of GDDR5 RAM. The other gaming laptop is the Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 with the same processor as the other laptop but using 1TB HDD and 128GB M.2 SSD storage. The same GPU is used and a 15.6-inch WLED FHD display.
The last of the new offerings is the Pavilion Gaming 32 HDR display. This beast has a 32-inch screen with 5ms GtG time and dynamic contrast of 10M:1 and a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 at 60Hz. Connectivity is a pair of HDMI ports and a pair of USB 3.0 ports.
