HP has unveiled what it claims is the very first Chromebook detachable. The X2 is very thin at 8.2mm thick and it weighs in at 1.62 pounds without the keyboard. It sports most of the same guts as the original, but has been updated with a Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) touchscreen display. With the fancy display added to the mix, HP has it priced at $440 online. Powering the touchscreen display is Nvidia's Tegra K1 System-on-Chip (SoC) armed with the chipmaker's Kepler GPU and 192 CUDA cores. The Chromebook 14-x050nr also sports 4GB of DDR3-1600 RAM, 32GB of eMMC storage, 802.11ac (2x2) Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a single USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0, HDMI output, headphone/microphone combo jack, microSD... The Pavilion x2 usually has a retail price of $329, but Microsoft is selling the device today for just $199. $199 will get you a 10.1” (1280x800) display, a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z3736F processor (burst speeds up to 2.16GHz), 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. That last spec may be troublesome for some users, but a microSD slot is included if you need a place to store some pictures or video files in a pinch. Other features include one USB 2.0 port...
