Microsoft Celebrates Upcoming Gears of War 4 Launch With Two New Xbox One S Bundles

Gears of War 4 is set to make its global debut on October 11th, and to commemorate the occasion, Microsoft has announced two new Xbox One S bundles.

The $349 Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Bundle will include a white console with a 1TB hard drive onboard and will be available on October 11th. The bundle will of course feature a download code which is good for the full version of Gears of War 4. And since Gears of War 4 is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, you’ll be able to play the game on both the Xbox One and a Windows 10 PC at no additional charge. Your save points, Gamerscore and Achievements will follow you between platforms without issue.

Microsoft is also offering up the $299 Xbox One S Gears War 4 Special Edition Bundle, which includes a 500GB console decked out with a deep blue finish and matching controller. This bundle will be sold exclusively at GameStop and Microsoft Store locations across the United States beginning November 1st, and will come with a physical copy of Gears of War 4. It should be noted, however, that the version of Gears of War 4 included in this bundle doesn’t come with Xbox Play Anywhere support — no Windows 10 gaming for you!

While that is definitely a bummer for those that prefer the deep blue paint scheme, Microsoft does have one consolation for you. Those that preorder either Xbox One S Gears of War 4 bundle will receive the Xbox 360 Gears of War Collection for free.

If you recall, Microsoft announced a limited edition “blood red” Xbox One S Gears of War 4 console over the summer. That console comes with a digital download code for the game, a 2TB hard drive, and is priced at $449 while supplies last.

Unfortunately for those that prefer to buy a console with the largest internal storage available, this is the only way to get a 2TB Xbox One S console. Microsoft says that it will no longer produce “standard” 2TB editions of the Xbox One S.
