Logitech’s MX Master 4 is the latest edition of the beloved Master mouse series, long a favorite of productivity minded users. The company is looking to celebrate its success with the introduction of the MX Master 4 Special Edition. It sports a unique design that Logitech says is meant to serve as a “celebration of the architects of logic and builders of the future.”

Because the MX Master is aimed at productivity personnel rather than RGB-obsessed gamers, it’s conventionally available in more serious colorways like graphite, pale gray and black. This special edition, though, breaks from this mold and has a snazzy dual tone design featuring what looks to be a combination of graphite and pale gray, with splashes of neon yellow in shapes that look ripped right out of the video game Marathon.

The mouse also includes a whole host of little Easter eggs that will bring a smile to the face of any programmer. For example, the right click button has the phrase “//Special Edition,” including the two forward slashes that are the most common marker of a non-code comment. Additionally, there’s text on the thumb rest that says “(‘Hello, World!’),” a nod to the first program most novice coders begin with.

Of course, beneath all the neon and Easter eggs, you’re still getting all the features that make the MX Master 4 such a great mouse. That includes haptic feedback with native integration for Windows 11 users, Actions Ring shortcuts, a free-flying MagSpeed scroll wheel that lets you move through 1,000 lines per second, and an 8K DPI Darkfield sensor for high-precision movement across a variety of surfaces.

The best part is that the MX Master 4 Special Edition doesn’t carry a higher price tag than its more pedestrian brethren. If it speaks to you, you can get your pre-order in now for $129.99, and it will begin shipping to customers on October 30.
