Leadtek Winfast Novo USB TV Tuner Review

AMDZone has just posted a review of Leadtek's Winfast Novo USB TV Tuner. This little box offers a ton of PVR functionality, and connects to a system through a standard USB port. This is a nice, simple upgrade for those who want to add TV tuning capabilities to their PC.

"WinFast PVR software has a number of buttons on its GUI allowing quick access to everything. First we went into configuration and let the card scan for all the channels, which it did so fairly quickly and accurately. There are a number of options for capturing video, there is a wide selection to choose from including various quality levels of MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, WMV, uncompressed AVI, VCD, SuperVCD, and DVD. You can also set time limits, size limit, video name output, progressive or interlaced encode, split file at certain megabyte size, as well as choosing the audio device to use with output and input. It immediately used our Realtek HD audio without a single problem and everything seemed easy and without hassle."

Even before being exposed to the Commodore P.E.T. and later the Commodore 64 in the early ‘80s, he was interested in electricity and electronics, and he still has the modded AFX cars and shop-worn soldering irons to prove it. Once he got his hands on his own Commodore 64, however, computing became Marco's passion. Throughout his academic and professional lives, Marco has worked with virtually every major platform from the TRS-80 and Amiga, to today's high end, multi-core servers.
