GTA 6 Leaker Defies Take-Two With Even More Secret Gameplay Footage

Grand Theft Auto VI footage has been repeatedly leaked by self-declared hacktivist group CyberLeek for the past week, and the latest unsanctioned reveals have been focused on the most risque, M-rated areas of the game, including the strip club and nudist town. These leak releases are being voted on by those participating in the Solana-networked CyberLeek coin, but from a fixed list held by CyberLeek, so it's hard to say what the release order says about fan demand. Mostly it seems CyberLeek's tastes veer toward the explicit, though nighttime plane gameplay footage was also posted right before the nudist town.

The current leak being voted for was in the form of a direct question from CyberLeek to buyers on if they want to see "the prologue with Lucia" or not. That means that it could be a matter of days or less before Grand Theft Auto VI's prologue, which is apparently heavily Lucia-focused, is leaked. This also implies the possibility that Jason and Lucia could have separate prologues, though I'm not sure that's what Rockstar is going for.

For Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two's part, these leaks aren't being taken lying down. Take-Two has been sending takedowns and subpoenas across Discord, X/Twitter, and Microsoft on the hunt for identifying information on the leaker and leak-sharers. The Netflix Extended Look at Grand Theft Auto VI is only days away on August 17th, and Take-Two has already lost control of how its game is being presented to the public.

Another odd wrench in the works is faked CyberLeek statements. A false statement reported and later retracted by Insider Gaming alleged that Take-Two was being threatened with a dead man's switch that would trigger a full leak of the game if CyberLeek was taken down. However, this proved to be untrue. In fact, no official X/Twitter account for CyberLeek even exists. Reporting on past statements regarding a supposed pro-physical media hacktivist slant does remain true, though, since "the CyberLeek Edicts" can be plainly read on the group's official site.

In any case, as IGN and other outlets report, the CyberLeek Saga continues with no end in sight. If Take-Two isn't able to get CyberLeek's members into the hands of relevant authorities, we may even see the entirety of Grand Theft Auto VI's story spoiled before release.
