Gigabyte Adds A Pixel Pushing Punch To Mini PC Family, Unveils Brix Gaming PC Kit
That's a potent combo for a machine that measures a scant 59.6mm by 128mm by 115.4mm, but it's also only the beginning. It has two SO-DIMM DDRL slots that you can fill with up to 16GB of 1333MHz or 1600MHz RAM, support for both an mSATA SSD and a standard 2.5-inch SSD/HDD, built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0, four USB 3.0 ports, two mini HDMI ports, a mini DisplayPort, LAN port, Kensington lock slot, onboard audio, and a combo headphone/microphone jack.
"The Gigabyte Brix Gaming is the perfect showcase for Intel and NVIDIA’s exceptional technologies," commented Henry Kao, VP of Gigabyte Motherboard Business Unit. "The Brix Gaming packs a high-performance, desktop-class processor and GPU that is highly suited to processor-intensive creative applications and 3D gaming titles. It is a great example of the type of innovation Gigabyte is delivering for the desktop PC space."
You can connect up to three simultaneous displays to the Brix Gaming. It also supports 3D gaming and 4K output. One of the best uses, however, is to take advantage of the VESA bracket and mount the Brix Gaming to the back of a monitor. Toss in a wireless keyboard and mouse, and you have a home brewed all-in-one built for playing games.
No word yet on when the Gigabyte Brix Gaming will be available or for how much.
