Far Cry 5 Launch Trailer Pits Local Resistance Against A Heavily Armed Religious Cult
However, the new trailer brings all of those pieces together into a backwoods, pickup truck drivin’, twangy music playin', hound dog howlin’, shotgun-filled glimpse into small town America.
Welcome to Hope County, Montana. When your arrival incites the cult to violently seize control of the region, you must rise up and spark the fires of resistance to liberate a besieged community.
Freely explore Hope County’s rivers, lands, and skies with the largest customizable weapon and vehicle roster ever in a Far Cry game. You are the hero of the story in a thrilling world that hits back with every punch, and where the places you discover and the locals you ally with will shape your story in ways you’ll never see coming.
Far Cry 5 is a true open world game, allowing you to freely roam Hope County, taking on adventures and missions at your own pace. Whatever path you choose, your end goal is to undermine Joseph Seed, who leads a cult, The Project at Eden’s Gate, that is disrupting everyday life in Hope County.
And this wouldn’t be a Far Cry game without plenty of vehicles to command, and you won’t be disappointed with the ability to fly planes, drive trucks, muscle cars, big rigs and of course, ATVs, tractors and boats. And you’ll no doubt have a wealth of weapons to choose as you crack skulls and put bullet holes through the cultish militia that is wreaking havoc across the county.
You’ll be able to complete the game solo, or via two-player co-op in what Ubisoft says will be the largest and most customizable version of Far Cry to date.
