There is still time to take advantage of Best Buy's 60th anniversary sale before it ends on Sunday. There are some enticing offers on tap, such as a boosted trade-in promotion that can effectively knock the price of a Switch 2 console down to as low as $245, or a free $25 Starbucks gift card with the purchase of an Apple MacBook Neo.
If you're in the market for an affordable gaming laptop, there are bargains to be had there as well. We took a look around and found some fantastic deals on systems priced below $1,500. Here is what we found.
HyperX HP Omen 16 OLED Gaming Laptop Hits All-Time Low
First and foremost is a deal on an HP HyperX Omen 16 laptop with OLED display—it's marked down to $1,399.99 at Best Buy (save $750).
We have never seen this laptop listed for less than it is right now. What stands out is that not only is it an affordable gaming laptop, but it brings a premium OLED panel to the 60th anniversary party. The 16-inch OLED screen features a 2.5K (2560x1600) resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate, up to 1,100 nits of peak brightness, and AMD FreeSync Premium certification.
This laptop packs an AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX 'Dragon Range' processor based on Zen 4 with eight cores, 16 threads, 8MB L2 + 32MB L3 cache for 40MB of total cache, a 3.6GHz base clock, and up to a 5.1GHz boost clock.
Other key specs include 16GB of DDR5-5200 memory, a 512GB PCIe 4.0 solid state drive (SSD), a GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, an expanded 4-zone RGB keyboard with a fast 8,000Hz polling rate, and Wi-Fi 7 + Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity.
Alienware 15 Gaming Laptop Is $700 Off

An even cheaper option is this Alienware 15 gaming laptop that is on sale for $1,224.99 at Best Buy (save $700). Alienware systems used to carry big premiums over comparable models, but these days, we routinely see Dell and its retail partners mark them down aggressively, as is the case here.
It's cheaper than the HP Omen 16 OLED because the specifications are a bit tamer, but it's still a decent value for the money. The Alienware 15 that is on sale sports a 15.3-inch display with a 1920x1200 resolution (16:10 aspect ratio), 165Hz refresh rate, and 300 nits of brightness.
Powering the system is an AMD Ryzen 7 260 'Hawk Point' processor based on Zen 4 (eight cores, 16 threads, a 3.8GHz base clock, up to a 5.1GHz boost clock, 8MB L2 + 16MB L3), a GeForce RTX 5050 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600 memory, and a 1TB SSD.
Sure, you're not going to set any benchmark records on this thing, but there is enough here for casual to moderate gaming.
