The Xbox One, PC, and Playstation 4 are definitely not all quiet on the western front. The Battlefield 1 trailer was just released and it is big, bad, and beautiful. Yesterday the concept art was leaked, but today we get the full trailer. The game is set in an alternate universe filled with WWI-era trench warfare, naval battles, and of course Zeppelins.

EA Games and DICE stated, “With Battlefield 1 we set out to create some of the largest create, most dynamic battles in FPS history while continuing to tap into what fans love most about the franchise. One of the things that makes World War I such an amazing era is just how advanced it really was. Almost everything that you know about the conflicts of the next century, from the massive battles across land, air and sea, to the powerful and efficient weaponry, is there.”

Since WWI was a global war, players will get to battle it out on different continents. Players will be able to participate on the Western Front, Eastern Front, and North African campaigns. White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” is not just an awesome background song. Up to 64 players will be able to play at once- a seven nation army indeed.

The game will have armored vehicles, scout planes and ships that all feature historically accurate classes. The two-seat biplane will carry both a pilot and gunner similar to the Bristol F-2. The trailer also revealed that there will be horses, which is another historically accurate inclusion.

"They've got curved swords! Curved swords!"

There will be a large array of customizable weapons including rifles, bayonets, flamethrowers, machine guns, a mace, knives and even shovels. Gas masks will also be available. And if you sign up as a Battlefield Insider and you can early-access to the public-beta, in-game rewards, and other exclusive content.

Those who pre-order the game will receive the Hellfighter Pack. It comes with themed items inspired by the 369th Harlem Hellfighter Infantry Regiment, a groups of African-American and Puerto Rican soldiers who were nicknamed by the Germans because they never lost a man through capture or lost a trench or a foot of ground to the enemy.

Those who pre-order the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition will be able to play Battlefield 1 on October 18th. The game will otherwise be released October 21st on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
