Amazon Blows Out Bose Speaker Deals Including The Sweet Solo 5 TV Sound Bar
Amazon has had some very good deals in the tech realm of late. Two of the best deals have been for SSDs to enhance your computer storage. One deal was from Amazon-owned Woot and was for a 480GB Kodak-branded SSD. The other was yesterday when Amazon announced a significant discount on a SanDisk 480GB SSD. Today Amazon has a couple of other good deals on audio gear from Bose.
One of the deals is on the Bose 201 Direct/Reflecting speaker system. Each of those speakers has a long excursion 6.5-inch woofer and two Stereo Targeting Tweeters inside. Bose uses its proprietary Stereo Everywhere tech to combine direct and reflected sound to fill a room.
Bose notes that these are perfect for front or rear home theater speakers along with a Bose VCS-10 center channel and Bose 161 surround speakers. One potential caveat with this deal is that you can't return them to Amazon. The speakers are $218 for the pair, which is a $100 discount off the regular $318 price.
Amazon is also offering a deal on a sound bar for home theater fans who don't want speakers all around the room. Bose says that the sound bar provides better sound than a TV alone. The Solo 5 has a dialog mode so you can hear what is being said on the screen. Bluetooth connectivity lets users stream music wirelessly to the Solo 5.
A single cable is all that is needed to get sound to the sound bar from the TV, and supported connectivity includes optical audio input, coaxial audio input, and 3.5mm input. A universal remote is included that can control bass, TV, and Bluetooth devices. The speaker measures 2.6: H x 21.6" W x 3.5" Deep and is available with a wall mount. The Bose Solo 5 alone is $199.00, a $50 discount off the regular $249 price.
