Alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 Case Render Show Dual Cameras, Repositioned Fingerprint Sensor

The Samsung Galaxy S9 rumors are coming in at a furious pace, and we've recently seen alleged benchmarks for the upcoming smartphone and reports that it a Galaxy S9 Mini will join the family. Now, we're getting a good glimpse at what that Galaxy S9 could look thanks to renders for a third-party case that is destined for the smartphone.

The renders, which were obtained by BGR, show a rugged GHOSTEK case that wraps around the Galaxy S9. While it's hard to get a look at the overall shape of the smartphone, we can clearly see from the front that it retains the curved display sides from its Galaxy S8 predecessor. However, the big changes appear out back where we can see dual cameras stacked vertically. This, of course, is a big departure from the Galaxy S8/Galaxy S8+, which features a single rear camera. Samsung also deployed a dual-lens camera setup on the Galaxy Note 8.

In addition, the fingerprint sensor has been moved from the problematic location directly beside the camera lens to below the flash. This should lead to fewer instances of misplaced fingers landing atop the camera lens when attempting to unlock the device or authenticate apps.

We should also mention that the case renders confirm that in addition to the requisite USB-C port, the Galaxy S9 retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Galaxy S9 is expected to be powered by either a Samsung Exynos 9810 processor or the unannounced (at this moment) Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It's expected that either SoC will be paired with 6GB of RAM, with up to 128GB of internal storage. We should also expect that the smartphone family will include a microSD slot, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, IP68 water/dust resistance, high-speed Qi wireless charging and Bixby (love it or hate it).
