Over the weekend, we highlighted a deal on Woot (owned by Amazon) whereby you can score a brand new Nintendo Switch 2 console for $469, which is $30 below the revised MSRP following Nintendo's price hike earlier this year. That deal is still available at the time of this writing. As fortuitous timing would have it, you can put the money you saved towards a newly discounted 512GB Samsung P9 Express microSD storage card.

512GB Samsung Express MicroSD Card Is 34% Off

This raises the question, why wait for Black Friday and Cyber Monday when you can score great deals now? In this case, the 512GB Samsung Express microSD storage card is down to $99 at Amazon (34% off, save $50.99). While that may not be an all-time low price, it is the least expensive it has been in six months.

A 512GB microSD Express card effectively triples the Switch 2's base 256GB of storage, netting you 768GB before accounting for the OS and overhead. Just as importantly, it gives you a lot more breathing room for your games, some of which are pretty large. Here's a look at some of the biggest Switch 2 games by file size:
  • Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III]: ~131GB
  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: ~92GB
  • NBA 2K26: ~71GB
  • Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition: ~60GB
  • Street Fighter 6: ~60GB
Some of Nintendo's first-party titles have smaller footprints, though it can still add up. For example, you're looking at around 23GB for Mario Kart World and in the neighborhood of 10GB for Donkey Kong Bananza. While you'd run out of storage space trying to squeeze every game mentioned on the Switch 2's built-in storage, you would have room to spare with a 512GB microSD Express card thrown into the mix.

Alternatively, Samsung's 256GB P9 Express microSD card is also on sale, going for $47.99 at Amazon (40% off, save $32). That effectively doubles the raw storage in your Switch 2 console.

You might be tempted to go on the hunt for non-Express cards, but don't do it, not for your Switch 2 anyway. MicroSD Express cards are faster at reading and writing data, and the Switch 2 is only compatible with Express models.

"Inserting a microSD card that has been previously used with a Nintendo Switch console into a Nintendo Switch 2 console will not allow you to save or load digital games or save data," Nintendo states.

The Samsung P9 Express is easily the best deal in microSD Express card territory right now. A close second is Micro Center's own-branded cards, which you can also pick up on sale at Amazon in the 512GB capacity, as well as PNY's model (not on sale):
