Acer 65-Inch Predator BFGD 120Hz Display Sizzles For 4K HDR Gaming With On-Board NVIDIA SHIELD And G-SYNC
Acer has been unveiling some cool gear at CES 2018, and the latest is a massive monitor designed specifically for gamers. It's a massive display that measures 65-inches and has NVIDIA G-Sync technology integrated in conjunction with NVIDIA's new Big Format Gaming Display (BFGD) initiative. The display also has NVIDIA SHIELD hardware built-in for streaming movies and TV shows in 4K HDR resolution. The 4K resolution monitor has ultra-low latency and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth playback no matter how fast the action on screen.
Acer integrates a full array backlight with 1,000 nits peak luminance and local dimming for higher contrast, deeper blacks, and brighter whites. The monitor includes a bundled game controller for SHIELD gaming and other forms of entertainment. Google Assistant is integrated for voice control, while G-SYNC is able to match the refresh rate of the screen to the video game rate to allow content to be seen as the director intended.

Acer wrote, "At 65-inches, the Predator Big Format Gaming Display (BFGD) features ultimate gaming specifications that consumers have come to expect from Predator gaming displays. It sports NVIDIA G-SYNC Variable Refresh Rate technology which provides a buttery-smooth, tear-and-stutter-free gaming experience, as well as ultra-low latency at 4K 120Hz. A full-array direct backlight delivers up to 1,000 nits peak luminance, and local dimming provides higher contrast, deeper blacks and brighter whites."
There are a couple significant details about the 65-inch Predator BFG that we don’t know just yet: Acer is mum on pricing and availability. HP has also rolled out a similar large format display at CES 2018.
