Brandon received his first PC, an IBM Aptiva 310, in 1994 and hasn’t looked back since. He cut his teeth on computer building/repair working at a mom and pop computer shop as a plucky teen in the mid 90s and went on to join AnandTech as the Senior News Editor in 1999. Brandon would later help to form DailyTech where he served as Editor-in-Chief from 2008 until 2014. Brandon is a tech geek at heart, and family members always know where to turn when they need free tech support. When he isn’t writing about the tech hardware or studying up on the latest in mobile gadgets, you’ll find him browsing forums that cater to his long-running passion: automobiles.

A new American city is set to take form in the New Mexico desert, and at first glance, nothing really seems to be amiss. There’s no doubt that we at HotHardware were rather impressed with the 2015 XPS 13 when it debuted earlier this year, enough so to give it our Editor’s Choice award. Dell managed to cram a 13.3-inch 3200x1800 QHD+ display with edge-to-edge Gorilla Glass -- or in Dell parlance, an InfinityEdge display – into a 12-inch... Read more...
With all the hoopla surrounding the unexpected and impressive looking Surface Book that was announced yesterday, it might be easy to forget that Microsoft also announced the Surface Pro 4, which is a rather respectable follow-up to the previously well-received Surface Pro 3. Microsoft’s Surface and Surface Pro family of tables have elicited a number of copycat designs over the years. Most recently, we’ve seen Apple take a stab at the Surface Pro form-factor with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro — a category that Apple CEO Tim Cook just a few years ago likened to pairing a toaster with a... Sony hasn’t exactly had much luck in the red hot smartphone market (look no further than Verizon’s decision to ditch the Xperia Z4v), but the company has no trouble getting its image sensors into the smartphones of its competitors or in point-and-shoot and DSLR cameras. In fact, Sony’s image sensor business has been booming for years, and Read more...
