Motorola's Android-Powered Photon 4G Announced For Sprint
Motorola hasn't had a smartphone on Sprint's network in a really, really long time. The last time the two companies collaborated in a major way was in 2005...with the launch of the RAZR! This week, the relationship is back on, and the Moto Photon 4G is the result of a lot of work together. It's the first 4G/WiMAX worldphone to ship in the U.S., with a 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, Android 2.3, WiMAX radio, CDMA/GSM compatibility, a qHD high-res display and support for international roaming.
There's also an 8MP rear-camera, VGA front-facing camera, 16GB of onboard memory, support for a 32GB SD card, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and around 10 hours of battery life. It's a really beastly phone, and a highly capable one, but Sprint's not mentioning a price nor a release date just yet. It looks like it may be the perfect phone for jetsetters, but we're sure the roaming fees won't be pretty...
