Nintendo was in need of a win leading up to the launch of its hybrid Switch console, and despite the skepticism that gamers would embrace a comparatively under powered game console to Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One, they have done just that. According to NPD Group, Nintendo was the big winner in July, outselling both the Xbox One and PS4 in the US. As if the Nintendo Switch wasn’t already hard enough to come by months after its official North American launch, there’s a new SKU that will soon be arriving in the United States. Joining the existing grey and neon red/neon blue Nintendo Switch consoles editions will be a new Splatoon 2 Bundle. We first learned about the Nintendo Switch Splatoon 2 bundle in May, but at the time it was only earmarked for Europe and Japan. However, the bundle will arrive in the United States on September 8th complete with the exclusive neon green/neon pink Joy-Con controllers. If you own a Nintendo Switch, it’s time to drop everything you’re doing and get ready to whip out your inkjets. Wait, what? Not printers, we’re talking about Splatoon 2, of course. Starting at 6PM EST tonight, Nintendo will be holding a demo event in which anyone can jump in and enjoy the game. However, in true Nintendo [oddball] fashion, the demo will only be available to enjoy for four hours, meaning that the fun ends at 10PM EST today. Get ready to paint the town. The Splatoon 2 Global Testfire kicks off this weekend for gamers on the Nintendo Switch. The hot new game title is available to download now. Gamers can grab Splatoon 2 in the Switch eShop, however, they will not be able to play the game until their beta session starts. If gamers boot up the game, they will receive the message: “The Splatoon 2 Global Testfire hasn't started yet”.
