Splatoon 2 Global Testfire Kicks Off This Weekend For Nintendo Switch
Gamers can grab Splatoon 2 in the Switch eShop, however, they will not be able to play the game until their beta session starts. If gamers boot up the game, they will receive the message: “The Splatoon 2 Global Testfire hasn't started yet”. NeoGaf thread users created a handy chart detailing when the various beta rounds will be available in each timezone.
The Global Testfire will include two maps. One of the maps resembles a massive sports club with a climbing wall, swimming, pool, and workout machines. It has been dubbed the “Fujitsubo Sports Club" or "Barnacles Sports Club”. There is also a city street map named “Battera Street”. Players will also have access to four new weapons including the new Splat Dualies and remixed versions of the Splat Roller and Splat Charger.
Splatoon 2 is a third-person perspective shooter video game and the sequel to the popular Wii-U game Splatoon. The game was released in May 2015 and received mostly positive reviews. For most regular matches, each team must cover the environment in their own color of paint within three minutes. The original Splatoon also included Splat Zone, a king of the hill-style mode, Rainmaker, a capture the flag mode, and Tower Control, a mode in which the team must capture and escort toward the enemies’ base.
Splatoon 2 supports both the Joy-Con controllers and the Pro Controller. It is compatible in both handheld and TV mode. The game will be available online and in a local multiplayer mode and gamers can even connect up to ten Switch consoles for a tournament.
You can check out some additional Nintendo Switch coverage and Splatoon 2 game footage from PAX East 2017 here. Splatoon 2 fully launches for the Switch this summer.
