If you own a Nintendo Switch, it’s time to drop everything you’re doing and get ready to whip out your inkjets. Wait, what? Not printers, we’re talking about Splatoon 2, of course. Starting at 6PM EST tonight, Nintendo will be holding a demo event in which anyone can jump in and enjoy the game. However, in true Nintendo [oddball] fashion, the demo will only be available to enjoy for four hours, meaning that the fun ends at 10PM EST today.

Those that want to engage in the festivities can navigate to the Nintendo eShop from your Switch and download the demo. You will of course need an internet connection to join in the four multiplayer maps that will be running and gunning in two, two-hour blocks.

Nintendo hopes that rationing out the Splatoon 2 goodness will be enough to get Switch gamers to purchase the full version of the game, which launches on July 21st. The game is priced at $59.99, but Amazon Prime members can get a pre-order discount, taking the price down to $47.99.

We spent some time with Splatoon 2 at PAX East this year. Hit the 1:13 mark in the video below to check out the live action. And of course check our Nintendo Switch full review with buying tips, if you're new to the console in general...
