Intel first announced its Hades Canon NUC back at CES, and it packs quite a lot of power into a pint-sized package. While Intel NUCs don't generally get as much attention as they deserve, Hades Canyon is partially special given that it is powered by Intel's latest 8th generation Kaby Lake-G processors with on-package Radeon RX Vega M GPUs. Korean hardware site Playwares has posted the first benchmarks of Hades Canyon, which in this case is powered by a Core i7-8809G processor. This particular chip comes integrated with the most powerful version of AMD's Radeon RX Vega M, the "GH" SKU. With that... Read more...
Earlier this year at CES 2018, Dell introduced its new XPS 15 2-In-1 convertible laptop, which it considers to be the world's most powerful hybrid machine. In this case, all of its computing muscle is coming from Intel's new 8th Generation Core i5 and Core i7 processors that feature an on-package AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL GPU with 4GB of HBM2. While we previously gave you a hands-on look at the new XPS 15 2-in-1 at the Dell booth, what we have today is a bit more tantalizing. Bear in mind that this is a very early look at the product, however. We've got some results from multiple Rise of the... Read more...
Earlier this week, Intel unloaded its full arsenal of 8th generation Core i5 and Core i7 processors that are backed with AMD Radeon RX Vega M GPUs. The unlikely pair has delivered a mobile powerhouse chip package that combines excellent processing performance with GeForce GTX 1050-class graphics for thin-and-light systems. Dell is the latest to embrace this new "combo" chip, and has placed it inside the XPS 15 2-in-1 convertible. In fact, Dell is proclaiming that the new XPS 15 2-in-1 is "the world's most powerful 2-in-1 ever" -- a claim that Hewlett-Packard has also used for its new Spectre x360... Read more...
Intel and AMD rocked the tech industry to its core late last year, when the pair announced that forthcoming Intel 8th Gen Core processors would feature integrated Radeon graphics. We had heard rumors of the two rivals working together in such a fashion for well over a year, but it seemed like such a far-fetched idea that we didn't lend much credence to the potential. Well, here we are at CES 2018, and Intel is giving us more details on its 8th generation Intel Core processors with integrated Radeon RX Vega M graphics. The mashup of an Intel processor with an AMD GPU is made possible by the... Read more...
Today is Intel's coming out part for the new 8th generation Core processors with on-package AMD Radeon RX Vega M graphics. It's the first [modern] collaboration between AMD and Intel for a high-performance processing package, and it looks like it will deliver some pretty stellar CPU and GPU performance for thin-and-light notebooks. However, Intel isn't just targeting the mobile sector with these 8th generation processors; it also has its eyes set on the desktop market. And to that end, the company has just pulled wraps of its next generation NUC. Developed under the codename Hades Canyon, Intel... Read more...
