Despite its new smartphone platform, webOS, Palm isn't out of the financial woods yet.  And if you read the OTR Global report today that said that Palm was halting its production lines for its webOS products, you might have sold off all your Palm stock. Thing is, it's all about a holiday, not bad news from Palm. Many global firms are experiencing... Read more...
This is somewhat akin to those experiments where people try to run over iPhones or iPods with a car, just because they can do it. One would have to ask, are you that dissatisfied with your Palm Pre that you want to drop it in beer? According to the video, this was the third Pre this person owned, as the screen kept cracking. His boss said... Read more...
Palm, realizing that the difference between 85,000 apps in the App Store, 10,000 apps in the Android Marketplace, and 100 apps in the App Catalog may be a lot of Palm Pre sales, has decided to spur application development and approval in a much more open manner than, say, the iPhone App Store does. As opposed to requiring submission to the... Read more...
Sure, it was leaked a couple of weeks ago, so we knew to some extent what was coming, but it wasn't until Monday that webOS 1.2 was officially released. If this is true, it's another case of Palm doing an important announcement / launch... Read more...
In the latest Big Brother-ish story to hit, a developer has discovered that the Palm Pre and Palm webOS know way too much about him than he wants. Not only does it upload location-based information to Palm, it also uploads data about his application usage. webOS also reports back crash log information to Palm. Of course, many PCs and smartphones... Read more...
It was expected, and here it is. Apple has updated iTunes to 8.2.1 and by doing so, has blocked the ability of the Palm Pre to use iTunes. One has... Read more...
