NZXT is taking its Tempest Chassis series to a new level with the announcement of the 410 and 410 Elite. Like their predecessors, these new chassis promise aggressive airflow to meet the needs of overclockers. There are two touch powered 120mm fans in the front of the case that feature removable filters. The cases also offer an extra-large honeycomb mesh design and dual radiator support. With the Tempest 410 Elite you’ll get an acrylic side panel and other new features. NZXT announced a new summer lineup for PC enthusiasts and gamers that includes a high-performance CPU cooler, two new cases, and accessories. The new HAVIK 140 is a high-performance CPU cooler with 6 mm heat pipes and dual standard 140mm fans.  The Avatar S gaming mouse features a DPI switch that adjusts 1600/800/400DPI in-game. This mouse has 16Kb of onboard memory that enables you to save personalized settings. Among NZXT’s performance cooling products, you'll find the FX fan series which churns out between 35.8 and 96.0 CFM with a built in 3 phase fan speed control. You'll also find the Sentry Mesh, a minimalistic fan controller with a mesh façade in this lineup. Last, but... Read more...
NZXT is a little late in trying to capitalize on the Avatar hype, and entirely way to early to pitch a branded product as being based off of a classic (like Star Wars, for example). But whatever, we'll cut NZXT some slack here because, well, the company's new Avatar S gaming mice look really cool. These rodents inspired by James Cameron's ridiculously successful film come in either black or white. What's that, no blue version!? Apparently not, though blue LED highlights accent the mice. Image Credit: NZXT Professional gamers probably need not apply, but for everyone else, the Avatar S series boasts up to 1600 DPI (you can switch between 1600, 800, and 400 in-game using a physical switch -- no... Got a heck of a lot of overclocked components to keep cool? No, you aren't sick nor twisted, you just need the help of NZXT. The peripheral company has just debuted their new Sentry Mesh Fan Controller, a five-fan controller that is said to deliver "maximum airflow customization with a simplistic design." The newest Sentry’s black, mesh façade stealthily blends into the case’s exterior and empowers enthusiasts to maximize and customize airflow with five 30W easy-to-use fan control sliders. It's a fairly simply product, but one that'll no doubt please those looking to keep a better handle on airflow within their case. It's also just $24.99, making it a fairly painless upgrade... It's not quite as sophisticated or complex as some of the liquid cooling options we've seen lately, but there's still a monster market out there for standard case fans. NZXT knows a thing or two about the hardcore gaming PC sect, and they're introducing this week a new FS-200 LED fan lineup to provide powerful gusts with no noise. And in order to make modders happy, these are available with green, blue or red LED lighting. Each FS-200 Silent LED Fan contains their own controller, but also comes packaged with a splitter allowing the Phantom’s LED switch to support two fans simultaneously. Expect these out later in the month for $17.99 each. NZXT Expands Silent LED Fan Series New FS-200 LED... Read more...
One of the more serious issues with most full-size gaming towers is noise. Not really heat -- there's plenty of room for fans -- but those fans end up making a ton of noise. NZXT has just released their H2 Classic Silent chassis, which is one of the sleeker cases that we have seen. It provides a layer of noise dampening foam that keeps internal noise from escaping the chassis, and a magnetic fan cover on the top 140mm fan adds another element of silence, but can be removed if the user prefers to maximize cooling.  Efficient airflow is further achieved with a unique 3 phase fan controller that allows enthusiasts to adjust speeds at 40%, 70%, and 100%.  The removable touch powered fan... The case lighting trend has softened somewhat in recent years, but serious case modders still know that a job isn't done without a little flash. NZXT is offering a bit of help to those who are tired of the same 'ol, same 'ol, and the new Sleeved LED Kit offers a very new look in a very old game. Traditional lighting methods involve cold cathodes and even solid LED boards that take up additional case space, but this next generation of case lighting is tailor made for smaller cases and unconventional shapes. Basically, this new kit is a snake-light run of lights that emits a constant glow throughout the strand, and users can adjust the light brightness to low, medium, and high levels with red,... Fan controllers, while functional, don't exactly come to mind as the first item to spruce up a rather drab looking PC, but maybe they would be if they all looked like NZXT's Sentry line. Released today is NZXT's Sentry LXE, the fourth external fan controller in NZXT's Sentry family and arguably the sexiest of the bunch. Like the Sentry LX, the revised LXE sports a large touchscreen interface. From here you're able to control up to five fans, adjusting the RPM speeds on each as you see fit. You can change these on a whim, or configure the fans to spin a certain speeds based on temperatures. At $60, it's a little pricey for a fan controller, but if there's a better looking one out there, do share... Read more...
Some say all good things must come to an end. iBuyPower believes that all good things must lead to another good thing. A year after introducing the highly portable LAN Warrior gaming PC (which was perfect for LAN parties, obviously), the company is issuing the all-new LAN Warrior II. A lot has happened in the CPU, GPU and storage areas since the original was launched, so let's take a look at what new hardware is involved here. For starters, the portable nature is still here. It's larger than one of those Shuttle XPC units, but the Micro-ATX chassis means that it's still portable enough to wrap underneath a single arm and skip into a LAN party. Beneath the hood (an NZXT Vulcan case), there's an... Read more...
NZXT is well known for delivering pretty wild looking PC enclosures, and while Lian-Li is as well, at least NZXT keeps pricing somewhat reasonable. The company's latest is the Vulcan, an m-ATX chassis that will be available to purchase by the end of the month. It's a member of the company's Crafted Series, and it integrated an array of advanced features into a compact solution with a built-in rubber coated handle for easy transport to LAN parties. The Vulcan ships with a pair of 120mm fans, a 200mm fan, and an 80mm front fan, so keeping things cool should be easy. There's an all-black inside, wire routing holes, a LED control swtich and a CPU heatsink backplate cutout. The greatest news of all... Read more...
The most memorable case of the past year? That honor definitely goes to the Level 10 chassis from Thermaltake. But considering the super high price point, it's not exactly a case that most average consumers can touch. It's also huge, so that's yet another reason to take it in from afar. But we have to admit: the latest enclosure from NZXT is pretty high up on the "weird, but in a good way" list. If you've been looking for a new case to fit in your outdoor bungalow or mountain cabin, this might just be the one. The new Tempest EVO Camo is probably the most otherworldly case that we can recall seeing in awhile. It's half-camo, half-retro. We never really thought a camo case could be created with... Right now, my production PC is humming along under my desk. It’s built into a massive Antec P193 case, which is built like a tank. It’s relatively quiet, especially since I removed the 200mm side fan. As a hardware reviewer, my lab testing seems to revolve around large cases. I’ve got several test systems built into three Coolermaster Cosmos 1000s and a Cosmos 1000S. Moving these systems around takes some care, since it would be easy to throw out a back; dropping one on your foot would be no joy, either. I also have four other systems that are occasionally used for product testing, but mostly used as game systems. Most Friday nights, four to six people troop into the basement lab and play LAN...
