Sony just recently jumped into the Media Player sector with a new N100 network box, and now an industry mainstay is coming out with another rival: Netgear just debuted the NeoTV 550 and NeoTV 350 HD Media Players. Both of these players play back multi-media stored locally at up to 1080p, with the 550 offering support for files stored on SD cards, USB hard drives and even files on Blu-ray. It supports 7.1 channel audio, but there's no internal storage space to speak of. The 350 is mostly the same but without support for external Blu-ray drives, and while a price isn't listed for it, the 550 will go for $219.
