Following in the footsteps of Google, Navigon, and Nextar, TomTom is promising free map updates for select GPS navigation systems starting in the second quarter of this year. Although details as to which models will be included in this offer are scant at this point, TomTom tells us that the updates will be available to users by simply connecting their navigation devices to TomTom HOME. Registered users will be notified of map updates as they become available. TomTom uses Tele Atlas maps, which are generally updated on a quarterly basis. As with all rumors, please take the following news item with a grain of salt until we can receive official confirmation or denial from AMD.As we've previously reported, AMD is rumored to be shipping their B3 stepping Phenoms, and it seems that we might see 2.5GHz models before April Fool's Day:“AMD is planning to launch B3 stepping quad-core Phenom 9050 series CPUs including 9850, 9750, 9650, 9550 and 9150 within the next 1-2 weeks, however the top-end 9850 will only reach a core frequency of 2.5GHz, instead of the original goal of 2.6Ghz. Although we didn't get the opportunity to make it to this year's summer IDF, Intel has made a number of interesting and newsworthy annoucments about their processor roadmap that we're sure many of you may have already caught wind of.  Of particular note of course is the fact that Intel is completely re-architecting their Desktop Dual Core CPU, moving away from the Prescott Dual Core, to a 4 issue core with a much shorter 14 stage pipeline.
