How do you follow up the launch of a highly anticipated handset in the Galaxy Note 8? If you are Samsung, you wait a week and then blitz IFA 2017 in Berlin, Germany, with a refreshed wearables lineup. Samsung did exactly that today by introducing three new items to the wearable category, including the Gear Sport smartwatch, Gear Fit2 Pro fitness band, and Gear IconX cordless earbuds. We had an opportunity to spend some hands-on time with each one of them. Before anyone brings out the pitchforks over perceived typos in the product names, that is not our doing. Samsung has seemingly waged war against... Read more...

IFA is dedicated to consumer electronics as well as appliances, and probably not too surprisingly, Google's Assistant finds a home in both. At its blog, Google tells us that three speakers are going to soon be launching that bundle its Assistant in, including Zolo Mojo, by Anker; TicHome Mini, by Mobvoi; and also the GA10, from a "little known company" called Panasonic. It is called the Nighthawk X6S (model EX8000) and it is an AC3200 tri-band Wi-Fi range extender, which itself does not sound all that sexy, but there is more here than meets the eye. One thing that makes this range extender stand out from the competition is Netgear's patented FastLane3 technology. FastLane3 is a fancy marketing term Netgear came up with to describe three critical components of the Nighthawk X6S, those being tri-band Wi-Fi, a dedicated Wi-Fi link... Read more...
It’s rather easy to take a tablet and make it appear “tough” by slapping on a rugged case that can withstand a few drops or even immersion in water. However, taking a consumer-grade tablet and tossing it to demanding, real-world situations isn’t always the best course of action. That’s why Dell developed its line of rugged tablets that are aimed at military professionals, public safety and field service. That brings us to the Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme Tablet (we’ll just call it Latitude 7212 for short), which has been designed to not only be lightweight (2.8 lbs), but can withstand brutal impacts...
