Smartphone makers have the impossible task of keeping things under wraps leading up to the launch of whatever device is on the horizon. For Samsung, that means not addressing rumors and speculation surrounding its upcoming Galaxy S5 smartphone, and there's been a lot of both, everything from what the redesigned home screen will look like to the possibility of new casing materials. It appears that Samsung has more in mind than just making physical changes to its flagship smartphone. Based on some leaked photos floating around cyberspace, Samsung is going for a visual overhaul as well, with the next version of its TouchWiz user interface (UI) overlay for Android looking a lot like Google Now. Twitter user "evleaks" posted a picture of the retooled TouchWiz UI on the microblogging site, giving viewers a glimpse of a tiled interface that could be the lovechild of Google Now and HTC's Blinkfeed, with a little Windows Phone DNA mixed in. Rumors about Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S5 smartphone have been raining down from cyberspace seemingly nonstop for the past few weeks. There's been chatter of the Galaxy S5 switching to new casing materials, talk of a 64-bit Exynos processor, speculation of an eye scanner, and plenty more in regards to Samsung's flagship device. So, what's the real scoop? The folks at SamMobile say they've been able to "confirm" the Galaxy S5's specs, though we're not willing to use the verb quite as loosely. Consumers must be getting antsy in anticipation of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S5 launch, hence why there have been so many rumors lately. Just last week, there was chatter suggesting Samsung's next flagship smartphone would use a "new material" and also a sensor, and now we're hearing that it may also include an eye scanning tool. According to Bloomberg, Samsung is batting around the idea of implementing an eye scanner in the Galaxy S5  to compete with Apple's iPhone 5S, which itself using a fingerprint scanner. We can say with 100 percent certainty that there's no way in Hades Samsung is going to suddenly discontinue its super popular Galaxy S line of smartphones. That means you can bank on there being a Galaxy S5 at some point, but what we don't know are the details surrounding the next Galaxy S release, though Samsung Vice President and Head of Design Strategy, Dong-hoon Chang, did reportedly offer up an interesting tidbit. According to a Korean news site, Chang said the Galaxy S5 will be made out of a "new material." He also said that Samsung is currently deciding whether or not to use a flexible display on the device.
