Tipped Specs of Samsung Galaxy S5 Point to a 5.24-inch QHD Display

Smartphone makers have the impossible task of keeping things under wraps leading up to the launch of whatever device is on the horizon. For Samsung, that means not addressing rumors and speculation surrounding its upcoming Galaxy S5 smartphone, and there's been a lot of both, everything from what the redesigned home screen will look like to the possibility of new casing materials. Samsung is expected to reveal all at Mobile World Conference (MWC) this month, though we may already know most of the specs.

Russian tipster Eldar Murtazin has a habit of leaking accurate information on Twitter, and one of his latest posts details the pertinent parts of Samsung's Galaxy S5 smartphone, which is highlighted by the 5.24-inch Quad High Definition (QHD) AMOLED display (2560x1440). That translates into a tantalizing 560 pixels per inch.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active
Samsung's Galaxy S5 may ditch the plastic design of its predecessor, though it won't be as rugged as the Galaxy S4 Active (shown above).

According to Murtazin's Twitter post, the Galaxy S5 will also sport 3GB of RAM, 32GB and 64GB internal storage options, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 or 64-bit Exynos 6 processor, 3.2-megapixel front-facing camera, 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 3,200mAh battery.

Previous rumors suggest there might be two versions of the Galaxy S5 similar to how Apple's latest generation smartphones come in two different main SKUs (iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C). The higher end model might feature a metal casing with a 64-bit SoC inside, versus the lower end handset rocking a plastic construction with a Snapdragon 805 chip.
