Eurocom has made a name for themselves over the years, primarily for producing some of the wildest, most cutting-edge notebooks out there. Of course, most of the baddest are all the biggest, but if your primary goal is to get a powerhouse, who really cares about size? The company's Panther 2.0 mobile server / workstation is one of those big beasts, and it's being updated today with a new chip from Intel. The 3.46GHz Xeon Processor X5690 is the newest chip to fall into the machine, and it's also equipped with 3.25TB of hard drive space (it can handle four SATA-300 / SATA-600 drives!), a built-in Uninterrupted Power Supply, Gigabit Ethernet, a 17" 1080p LCD, plenty of room for 24GB of DDR3 memory,... We took a pair of Radeon HD 6970M graphics cards and put them up against a pair of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 470Ms for some head-to-head benchmarks. Since we'll be working with mobile cards, we'll need a suitable mobile platform to run the tests on. Our benchmark platform is the Eurocom Panther 2.0. This is a very large and very powerful desktop replacement (DTR) based on the Clevo X7200 whitebook... AMD Radeon HD 6970M Review w/ Eurocom... Read more...
In the middle of December, at the beginning of the annual holiday shopping spree, AMD released their latest and greatest graphics cards, the Radeon HD 6970 and 6950. In our review, we noted that the new GPU, code-named "Cayman" is a notable step forward from the previous generation. It incorporates dual graphics engines whereas the previous generation only had one, among other changes, that give the new chip a nice leg up in performance. Less than a month later AMD had another product to release, the AMD Radeon HD 6970M. Code-named Blackcomb, the Radeon HD 6970M is the mobile counterpart to Cayman. This chip is currently AMD's fastest GPU for mobile applications and it's meant for use... Read more...
The fastest notebook in the world? We seem to see these surface every few month or so, usually after a major chip maker has just introduced a new processor or after AMD/NVIDIA has revealed a brand new mobile GPU. It's easily to claim the "world's fastest" when you're the first to introduce the latest hardware, but Eurocom seems to be faster than just about everyone else. The company has just introduced their newest laptop, the Racer, which they're calling the planet's fastest 15" notebook. The Racer joins numerous other Eurocom machines, with this one boasting the latest from AMD, Intel and NVIDIA. It will also support Intel's 7th-gen chipset, Huron River HM65, and will support up to a 100-watt... Read more...
Eurocom. Say the name, and think big notebooks. Really big. The company is famous for producing some of the world's most powerful (and largest) machines, and now their newest is available with one of the world's most powerful mobile GPUs. The AMD Radeon Mobility HD 6970 is AMD's top of the line VGA card in the 6xxxM series, which just launched at the Consumer Electronics Show. The new card can be ordered by itself or in CrossFireX mode in the following machines: Panther 2.0, Leopard, Cougar, and Cheetah 2.0. Details on each model are below, with pricing varying significantly based on build. But hey, if you've been looking to buy a max-spec machine regardless of size and price, Eurocom's ready... Eurocom. You know the name. They're one of the most prominent gaming notebook makers on the planet, and their machines are generally larger and faster than anything else out. The company has just announced yet another innovation, with the launch of RAID 10 notebooks that utilize the quick 480GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD, a drive powered by the SandForce 1200 controller. That Vertex 2 drive will soon be available in all Eurocom Mobile Workstations and Mobile Servers, offering up to 250MB/sec on the read side and 240MB/sec on the write side. The drive will be available in the Panther 2.0, X8100 Leopard and three other major machines soon, and we hope that this is just the beginning of using ultra-fast SSD... Read more...
Eurocom is a name synonymous with high-end, cutting-edge machines. It's also a company that rarely makes anything that's truly "portable." Without a doubt, the company's calling card is their high-end gaming notebooks, and the machines they make are about as close as you can get to having desktop power within a notebook. The new X7200 Panther 2.0 is no different. It's a powerful new laptop that just so happens to be the world's first notebook with an HDMI 1.4 input port. HDMI 1.4 is the latest version of the protocol, which fully supports 3D. The Panther 2.0 can be customized in pretty much every way imaginable, but the company suggests using a 6-core Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition or a Xeon... Read more...
Thanks to Seagate hard drives which have reduced in size from 12.5 mm to 9.5 mm, Eurocom has been able to crack the 3TB 7200rpm barrier in its Mobile Servers and Mobile Workstations. With these smaller drives, Eurocom has been able to put up to four hard drives in its D900F Panther, X8100 Leopard, and the upcoming EUROCOM X7200 Panther 2.0. By putting these drives in these notebooks, Eurocom has increased the processing power, speed, and storage of its products. To achieve the maximum performance and storage capacity, Eurocom can fit up to four physical hard drives in its high performance mobile workstations. Using the large storage capacity of Seagate's Momentus 3Gb/s 750GB hard drives,... Read more...
Eurocom has been producing high-end notebooks for years now, and they often get purchased by other companies and rebadged from there. But the company's newest machines aren't the usual. Rather than being big, beastly gaming notebooks, the new Fox line is more on the nimble side, and these show some respect for battery life with integrated NVIDIA Optimus. What's most unusual about the Foxes is the size. Usually, we see Optimus in systems that are smaller; ultraportable machines with switchable graphics are all the rage right now, as they can be used for both gaming and portable work. But Eurocom is included Optimus into larger machines. The two Fox laptops are 15.6" and 17", and both can be ordered... Read more...

If you absolutely must have the best and brightest from the notebook world, Eurocom is a pretty safe bet. The company is pretty undercover, but they're usually right at the forefront of innovation, and they're usually first to insert new, cutting-edge hardware into machines. Take the new Panther notebook for example: Eurocom has equipped this laptop with Intel's Xeon 5600 Series CPU as well as an NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800M GPU.This mobile workstation is designed to chew through the most difficult of rendering tasks, enabling creative professionals to have a serious desktop replacement that can handle the demands they place on machines. Users can also choose an Intel Core i7 processor if you're more... Read more...
When it comes to cutting edge notebooks, Eurocom is always at the ready with something new. Whenever a new mobile CPU, chipset or GPU becomes available, you can almost count on this company delivering the first notebook based around those new specifications. Today, the company is introducing another world's first, and while it doesn't ship in a machine that's anywhere near ultra-mobile, it's still impressive to think that you can now carry Intel's Core i7-980X Extreme Edition in a machine that fits in a (large) carry-on bag. The planet's first six-core notebook has arrived, with options for the 980X or the Xeon W5680 available. Users can also equip the machine with up to 2.6TB of storage (room... Read more...
