Sony added the DSC-TX55 Cyber-shot digital camera to its lineup. This camera is capable of capturing 12 megapixel-level still photos and Full HD video at the same time thanks to its 'Dual Rec' mode. The camera also captures 3D photos with a single lens, taking two images consecutively. According to Sony, the DSC-TX55's 'By Pixel Super Resolution' technology increases the camera's zoom range to a virtual 10x. The TX55 features a 16.2 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and measures only 12.2mm thick (excluding the lens cover), making it smaller in thickness than a AA-size battery. In addition to the Sony a35 camera we showed you earlier, Sony is also adding a new compact camera to its lineup. According to Sony, the new NEX-C3 is the world’s smallest, lightest interchangeable lens camera with an APS-C sized sensor. This camera comes in a range of colors and offers DSLR-like quality in a compact model. The camera weighs approximately 8 ounces and features a 16.2 megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor. The NEX-C3 also has a high contrast 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD and a handful of creative features. Sony introduced the new α35 (SLT-A35) interchangeable lens camera. This camera builds on Sony's α33 and α55 models and features Sony’s Translucent Mirror Technology. The α35 also features Tele-zoom High Speed Shooting, a feature that magnifies a central portion of the image area while shooting at up to 7 fps. This 16.2 megapixel camera uses the Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and a BIONZ processor. Pentax announced the new Optio RS1500 digital compact camera. What's unique about this camera is that it features a removable faceplate system with a screwless faceplate design and interchangeable lens ring snap that will hold custom skins of your design in place. Olympus has been kicking out cameras left and right lately, one of which is the company's "Tough TG-810." Nikon revealed a handful of new COOLPIX digital cameras, including the all new COOLPIX P500 with a 36x zoom. Casio unveiled what it is calling "the world’s first Hybrid GPS enabled digital camera." The new EXILIM EX-H20G features Casio's Hybrid GPS technology, which combines GPS with autonomic positioning made possible by an internal motion sensor. This technology enables the camera to geotag your images, even if they are taken indoors. The EX-H20G can display your current location as well as geotagged photos and videos on a map. Casio has been kicking out digital cameras like a boss, including a handful of new point-n-shoots just announced today. One of those is the new EXILIM EX-ZR10, a zoom-friendly camera Casio claims integrates high-speed shooting and high-speed image processing all rolled into one. Casio goes to great lengths trying to convince the HDR crowd this is the point-n-shoot for them. As such, the ZR10 boasts Casio's HDR technology, whereby "each press of the button actually takes several shots with different exposures and instantly combines them into a single image with a high dynamic range," hence the need for a speedy image processor. Canon is adding the PowerShot G12 and PowerShot SX30 IS to its lineup of cameras designed for photo enthusiasts. The PowerShot G12 will offer HD video recording capabilities (720p) as well as the HS (High Sensitivity) SYSTEM for low-light conditions. The PowerShot G12 is a 10 megapixel camera with a 2.8-inch vari-angle LCD and a 5X-Optical Zoom lens with Optical Image Stabilization. The G12 also features a High Dynamic Range (HDR) scene mode. Olympus and Panasonic have Micro Four Thirds, and Sony has their own interchangeable lens camera on offer. Nikon is talking about entering this market, too. The fact is, just about every camera company is looking to exploit this new niche, which slots itself between DSLRs and standard point-and-shoot cameras. Don't worry, you're not going through another episode of déjà vu if Casio's Card EX-S200 and Zoom EX-Z800 sound eerily familiar. These are the same two additions to the EXILIM family of digital cameras Casio launched in Tokyo last month, and now they're both headed for the U.S. market. Both compact cameras come with a Single Frame SR Zoom that extends the 4X optical zoom range to 6X purportedly without any discernible loss of picture quality. The point-n-shoot category is filled with colorful cameras of all shapes and sizes, and some even sport cartoon characters on and around the body. Is this where the DSLR market is headed, too? We don't know, but one thing's for sure -- the era of black and silver only DSLR cameras has come to a close. Sony added to its pocket video camera offerings by announcing the new Bloggie Touch (MHS-TS20 and MHS-TS10). These new cameras are capable of capturing 1920x1080p high definition MP4 video and 12.8-megapixel photos. The difference between the two models is embedded memory, with 8GB (MHS-TS20) or 4GB (MHS-TS10) options. The cameras can store approximately four hours of HD movie recording. The Bloggie Touch features a 3-inch capacitive touch screen as well as “touch and flick” recording controls and three simplified buttons for control. This DSLR uses Sony's Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and is one of the few models in Sony's line to offer Multi-frame Noise Reduction, Sweep Panorama mode, 3D Sweep Panorama, and Full HD 1920x1080 60i video capture. We've seen camera announcements from Nikon and Canon within the last week, and now it's Ricoh's turn. The new CX4 is a 10 megapixel camera with a rear-illuminated CMOS sensor. The Ricoh CX4 is a successor to the CX3. Like its predecessor, the CX4 has a wide-angle lens with a 10.7x optical zoom lens, f/3.5-5.6 brightness, and a 3-inch LCD with a resolution of 920,000 dots. Two of the CX4's key distinguishing points are its improved image stabilization matrix and subject-tracking autofocus. With the announcement of the PowerShot S95, the SD4500 IS, and the SX130 IS digital cameras, Canon is adding three new high-performance PowerShot cameras to its lineup. All three new models can capture HD video. In addition, the S95 and SD4500 IS cameras both incorporate Canon's HS (High Sensitivity) system for capturing better photos in low-light conditions. The S95 is Canon's first camera to offer an in-camera HDR scene mode for shooting scenes with very dark tones and bright highlights. Nikon is targeting a wide range of photographers with its new D3100 DSLR. This 14.2-megapixel camera is the successor to Nikon's D3000. It offers a number of features for the more advanced photographer but also has some of the technologies you'd find in a compact, point and shoot model from Nikon's COOLPIX line. What's really cool about the new D3000 is that it's the first DSLR to have full-time AF for D-Movie video shooting and while in Live View mode. The camera can record 1080p resolution (1920x1080) movies in the H.264 AVCHD codec. The D3100 uses contrast based AF to focus on subjects while shooting in Live View.
