Microsoft has decided to extend it's XBox Live service to multiple platforms under the name "Live Anywhere". The new system will integrate Microsoft's Windows Vista with cell phones, and their gaming consoles. "In a demonstration, an Xbox 360 gamer using Live Anywhere was able to send an invitation to a friend on a PC. After the PC user agreed, the two connected for a cross-platform online gun battle." DigiTimes reports that AMD is delaying the launch of their Turion 64 X2 mobile processor by roughly a month. Fortunately, the delay does not seem to be hardware related and is instead credited to Microsoft's latest delay with its upcoming Vista operating system. With Intel's Santa Rosa platform on the horizon, the Turion 64 X2 processor will certainly be critical to AMD's chances of gathering market share in the mobile segment. AMD has postponed the launch of the Turion 64 X2, its first 64-bit dual-core processor for notebooks, to June 2006, instead of May 9 as originally planned, sources at Taiwan notebook manufacturers indicated. In a follow-up to the distinctive 5.0MP dual-lens EasyShare V570, Kodak has announced the new 6.1MP EasyShare V610. The dual Schneider-Kreuznach C-Variogon zoom lenses are still carried over with the V610, but this time one has a focal length of 38-114mm while the second lens goes from 130-380mm. The V610 looks strikingly similar to its predecessor, but is slightly larger to accommodate the new 2.8" LCD screen (up from 2.5" on the V570). Apple Computer Inc. expects the average selling price of its iPod digital music players to decline in the current quarter from the prior period, the company's CFO said on Wednesday. "We expect them to be down a little bit in the June quarter," Apple's Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer said. Apple Computer Inc. unveils the third generation of its desktop management software, Apple Remote Desktop 3.
