It seems as though we've been hearing rumors about an Apple electric vehicle (EV) for at least the past half-decade. Those reports died down over the last year, but they're bursting back to life this week thanks to a rather curious admission from Hyundai Motor Group. When it comes to predicting new products from the Apple-sphere, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is right at the top of the game. Kuo was rumored to be leaving the Apple prediction realm back in May and then simply landed at a new firm called TF Securities and kept on with his Apple predictions. The analyst's latest research note has been spied and, Kuo talks about a couple of Apple products that have been long rumored. Last week we reported that Apple’s self-driving car project, code-named “Project Titan”, was experiencing a big shakeup. This week, however, it seems that Apple is trying to get the ball, or should we say tire rolling. Apple, has hired former QNX co-founder and chief executive officer Dan Dodge in order to further the project. Dodge is now part of a team headed by former Apple hardware chief Bob Mansfield. Dan Dodge at DevCon 2010Dodge co-founded QNX in 1980 as a student at the University of Waterloo in Canada. With the spotlight aimed primarily at Volkswagen these part few days (for all the wrong reasons), the German company is probably happy to hear that another company is grabbing headlines in the automotive space. And interestingly enough, the company drawing attention hasn’t never produced a vehicle, nor has it publicly stated that it will produce a vehicle — but all signs points towards the end game.
