Metro Exodus is due to arrive in just over three weeks from now, and like Battlefield 5, it supports real-time ray tracing if you have the appropriate hardware—you'll need a GeForce RTX series graphics card. In the lead up to the launch, develop 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver posted a trailer that showcases some of the game's weaponry. Just as with Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, the new Exodus chapter features customizable weapons. NVIDIA and developer 4A Games have released a video showing over 6 minutes of gameplay footage from Metro Exodus, a story-driven first person shooter (FPS) that will be one of the first titles to support real-time ray tracing. The video is narrated by Benjamin Archard, a rendering programmer at 4A Games. In it, he explains some of the intricacies of real-time ray tracing, and specifically global illumination. As anyone who has been following the GeForce RTX launch already knows, NVIDIA's new generation of Turing cards are built to bring real-time ray tracing to consumers. In 2010, a game came along that should have put to rest the popular meme, "Can it run Crysis?" Despite being graphically superior - it was the first major title to include DirectX 11's tessellation feature - Metro 2033 didn't get the respect it deserved on the graphics front. On the gameplay front, things were different. It was immersive, the world was convincing and never knowing what was right around the corner helped make the game stand out to FPS fans all over.
