Zelda Edition Switch 2 Sells Out As eBay Prices Surge To $1,150
In case you missed it, Nintendo announced some interesting developments during its Direct event, where it showed off 15 minutes of gameplay footage from its upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. And as was rumored to exist, Nintendo officially unveiled a Zelda-themed Switch 2 console. Predictably, it sold out almost instantly. Also predictable? The rash of scalper listings on eBay.
"On the surface of the black and gold dock, decorations inspired by the Legend of Zelda game series are displayed along with the golden symbol of the Triforce," Nintendo explains.
The Triforce symbol and other Zelda-themed bits can be found on the Joy-Con 2 controllers too, which also feature the classic green and gold colors of one of the most popular IPs in gaming. It's an attractive design for sure, despite Nintendo's recent price hikes, there was zero chance of this thing flopping.
Nintendo's themed console is supposed to cost $519.99. Note that it doesn't come with a Zelda game, or any game—updated pricing for the Switch 2 without a theme is $499.99 for the standalone console, so it's a $20 premium for the Zelda decorations. Nintendo also plans to bring back its Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle for $549.99 later this month, and is introducing a Switch 2 + Sports Resort bundle for $529.99 on October 22, 2026.
As for the Zelda edition Switch 2, here are some of the places you can keep checking in case Nintendo's retail partners replenish their preorder inventories:
We're not seeing any stock available at the moment, except for eBay. However, looking at the most recent listings that ended with a buyer, the going rate is around $800. The highest tally we've seen so far is $1,250, which includes some extras but is still way overpriced. Scalpers are gonna scalp, after all.
Our advice is to keep checking the above retailers in case they get more inventory, rather than feeding the scalpers.
