Windows 10 Redstone 3 Build 16184 Debuts ‘My People’ Integration And Gmail Perks

We’re still pretty early in the public gestation period for Redstone 3, but Microsoft is already making some useful additions to the next major update for Windows 10. The newest build handed down from the folks in Redmond, Washington is Windows 10 Build 16184 which just hit the Fast ring.

First and foremost, Microsoft is finally bringing the My People functionality to Windows 10. We were given a glimpse at My People when Microsoft made the first public announcement of the Windows 10 Creators Update. However, My People fell by the way side as Microsoft focused its attention on other more pressing Creators Update features like Game Mode, Beam game streaming, and improved privacy features.

“Whether you want to share a photo, make plans for dinner, or get an answer from a friend or coworker,” Microsoft explains. “My People is here to take it to the next level and bring the people you care about most to the center of your experience.”

The My People app also allows you to combine a number of different messaging apps into a single window to declutter your workflow and you can pin your “favorite” people to your taskbar to have quick access to them. That latter feature is limited to three people in the current build.

Microsoft is also rolling out what it calls a “New Experience” for Gmail users that access their mail through the Windows 10 Mail and Calendar apps. According to Microsoft, Gmail users will be able to take advantage of a Focused inbox (put the emails most important to you front and center), faster search, along with package travel and package tracing.

If you’re on the Fast ring, Windows 10 Build 16184 should be making its way to your computer shortly.
