The Elder Scrolls 6 May Get Big Reveal Before GTA 6 Arrives This Month
The name that Microsoft’s Xbox gaming division has settled on is The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, but fans shouldn’t expect to see anything major beyond the name reveal and perhaps some artwork. Deeper additional details will likely be held back for a splashier announcement at a big event such as the yearly Game Awards, which has become one of the biggest showcases on the gaming calendar in recent years.

If you’re the type of person who is allergic to any spoilers then stop reading here and head over to the next paragraph. Warren says that players can expect a romp through the province of Hammerfell, which has made appearances in both The Elder Scrolls Online and The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard. The story will be designed to give players insight into the “history of the Elder Scrolls, and help uncover the secrets of these mysterious ancient artifacts.”
There’s no word on a potential release date, but it’s a good bet that it will coincide with the launch of Microsoft’s next generation console, Project Helix. Microsoft next console is expected to be a pricey box, so having a game with as much pull as The Elder Scrolls right out of the gate could help spur initial sales.
This announcement should take place around November 11 as part of Bethesda’s celebration to mark the 15th anniversary of the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Giving the game at least a few days to generate a bit of hype before Grand Theft Auto VI consumes the gaming world’s attention when it drops on November 19.
