Seagate and Samsung are teaming up to develop and cross-license controller technologies for solid state drive (SSD) storage devices. In doing so, the companies hope to satisfy the needs of enterprise storage applications by offering high levels of performance, reliability and endurance.
The partnership will combine Seagate's leadership in enterprise storage technology with Samsung's 30 nanometer-class MLC NAND flash memory technology. The jointly developed controller will be used in Seagate's enterprise-class SSDs.
