Although Rise of the Tomb Raider started off life on the Xbox One in November, it was always intended to make its way to other platforms. It landed on the PC in January and today, we’ve learned that PlayStation 4 owners will be able to purchase the game on October 11th.

The launch on the PS4 culminates with Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, which includes Rise of the Tomb Raider and new premium DLC chapters entitled “Blood Ties” and “Lara’s Nightmare.” Also on tap is co-op support for the existing “Endurance” mode and a new “Extreme Survivor” setting that not only jacks up the difficulty mode, but also removes those handy save checkpoints. “The only way to save your game is to forage enough resources to light campfires and survive from one to the next,” writes Crystal Dynamics Studio co-head Scot Amos.

It should also be noted that all previous DLC that was released on the Xbox One will also be available for the PS4. And as an added bonus, players will be able to complete “Expedition Modes” using a number of classic Lara models that were used in previous Tomb Raider games.

But perhaps the biggest addition is the fact that “Blood Ties” will function as a standalone showcase for PlayStation VR, allowing you to go on adventures seeing things through Lara’s eyes.

“The studio is celebrating with all Tomb Raider fans, thanking them for being on Lara’s 20-year journey with us,” added Amos. “The team has packed in surprises, new story, and the top requested special features into this 20 Year Celebration edition.”

We should mention that Xbox One and PC users that have already purchased a Season pass will get all of the added goodies available on the PS4 version (minus PlayStation VR support of course) on October 11th.
