OnePlus 5 Photo Tease Confirms Dual Cameras And Striking Resemblance To iPhone 7 Plus

As we get closer to the launch of the OnePlus 5, OnePlus is being a bit more generous with details surrounding its upcoming flagship Android smartphone. Earlier this week, the company revealed that the smartphone will be unveiled on June 20th, and today it revealed our first real [officially sanctioned] picture of the device.

Here it is; or at least here is the back of the OnePlus 5, which clearly gives us a look at the dual camera setup and LED flash. The arrangement of the cameras, flash, microphone and the visible antenna lines might bring up immediate comparisons to the iPhone 7 Plus. In fact, the resemblance is undeniable, save for the OnePlus logo instead of a partially-eaten apple.

This official image also corroborates the image of the OnePlus 5’s backside that leaked earlier this week.

In addition to the first official shot of the new flagship, OnePlus has also posted video comparing the audio quality of the OnePlus 3 to the OnePlus 5. “We brought in some new hardware and assigned a group of engineers to optimize the audio system of the OnePlus 5 to capture much clearer sound,” writes OnePlus. “As a result, the OnePlus 5’s improved microphone performs significantly better in loud environments. See for yourself!”

It has also been confirmed that OnePlus is working with DxO to improve image output for the dual cameras.

When it comes to other hardware specs, it is rumored that the OnePlus 5 will feature a Snapdragon 835 processor that will be paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. We can expect to see at least 64GB of onboard storage, a 5.5-inch display with 2.5D glass and a fingerprint reader integrated into the home button.
