NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 800M Mobile GPUs Land On Gaming Notebooks From CyberPowerPC, MSI, Maingear, Origin And Razer
Every time NVIDIA drops a new line of GPUs, all your favorite boutique PC builders refresh their systems with the tasty new components, and today’s debut of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 800M series of GPUs is no exception, as CyberPowerPC, Maingear, MSI, Razer, and Origin PC all have new machines ready to go.

CyberPowerPC loaded up its FANGbook EVO HX7 notebooks with the new goods as well as 4th-gen Intel Core processors. There are four base models in the series, from the HX7-100 to the HX7-400, and they start at $1,499. The base HX7-100 features a 17.3-inch Full HD 1080p display, an Intel Core i7-4700MQ processor, and a GeForce GTX 870M (6GB) GPU.

There’s also 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 1TB HDD, and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi with Bluetooth. CyberPowerPC’s systems all come with a one-year limited warranty, too.
Maingear refreshed the base models of its Pulse 14 gaming notebooks with the GeForce GTX 850M (2GB) GPU. The “good”, and “better” and “best”, versions feature Intel Core i5-4300M and Core i5-4702MQ CPUs respectively, and the lowest-end Pulse 14 offers 8GB of DDR3-1600 RAM, 500GB Seagate HDD (7200 rpm), and Windows 7 or 8 for a starting price of $1,199. The highest-end Pulse 14 starts at $1,699.
Maingear Pulse 14
The 14-inch notebooks have 1080p HD resolutions, and you can opt for mSATA SSDs in capacities up to 960GB in RAID 0. The machines feature automotive-quality paint jobs and include three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, SD card reader, and 2.1 speakers.
MSI’s GT Dominator and GE Apache 16- and 17-inch gaming notebooks are rolling out with NVIDIA’s latest as well. The GE Apache systems offer GTX 850M and 860M GPUs, while the GT Dominator (GT60 and GT70) will get the GTX 880M GPU. MSI’s gaming notebooks all support 4K displays and include XSplit Gamecaster software. They, of course, run 4th-gen Intel Core processors, and they also boast mSATA SSDs with read speeds of up to 1500MBps in a pairing with high-capacity 1TB (7200 rpm) HDDs.

The GT Dominator and GE Apache rigs starts at $1,499 and $1,299, respectively.
Razer’s self-proclaimed “world’s thinnest” gaming notebooks took the GPU refresh as an opportunity to release new Razer Blade and Razer Blade Pro systems. The 14-inch notebooks feature a display resolution of 3200x1800 and touchscreen capabilities, and under the hood there’s an Intel Core i7-4702HQ processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M (3GB) GPU with Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics.

The Razer Blade also features a 128GB SSD (with up to a 512GB option), 8GB of DDR3-1600MHz RAM, a built-in 2MP HD webcam, and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac+ WiFi with Bluetooth 4.0 and a stunning 3200x1800 IGZO touchscreen display featuring 5.76 megapixels at 3200X1800 resolution. There are three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, a built-in array microphone, 3.5mm mic/headphone combo jack, and built-in speakers with Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater Edition technology. The Razer Blade starts at $2,199.

Origin PC is in the game as well, announcing that its EON13-S, EON15-S, EON17-S, and EON17-SLX high-performance notebooks will all offer NVIDIA’s 800M-series GPUs. Notably, Origin says that the new graphics cards will enable it to offer a 3200x1800 display resolution on the EON13-S sometime soon. Origin’s 800M series-equipped notebooks start at $1,399.
