Gears of War 4 is one of the most highly anticipated game launches coming this fall, and it will be available on both Xbox One and PC gaming platforms. The folks at NVIDIA are making it easier to obtain the game, as it will provide Gears of War 4 free for anyone that purchases a GeForce GTX 1080 or GeForce GTX 1070 graphics cards.

Although Microsoft recommends at least a GeForce GTX 1060 for PC gamers looking to blast away their foes in Gears of War 4, NVIDIA reckons that the GeForce GTX 1070 and GeForce GTX 1080 will provide the best visual experience (hence their inclusion in this promotion). For the “Ideal” gaming experience with Gears of War 4 at 4K (3840x2160), NVIDIA recommends that you spring for a GeForce GTX 1080.

To take advantage of the free Gears of War 4 promo, simply purchase a new GeForce GTX 1080 or GeForce GTX 1070 from one of NVIDIA’s authorized retailers or an authorized system builder/board partner (see a full list here). And for you those of you that decide to purchase a brand new gaming notebook with Pascal onboard, NVIDIA hasn’t forgotten about you. You’ll also qualify for the free game offer.

Interestingly, it appears that the Pascal-based Titan X isn’t included in this promotion.

Customers who make qualified purchases will receive a digital code that will allow them to download the full retail version of Gears of War 4. And surprisingly enough, the code will be valid for accessing both the PC version AND the Xbox One version of the game thanks to Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere initiative.

Gears of War 4 follows the adventures of JD Fenix and his pals JD, and his friends Del and Kait as they battle the Swarm, which threaten to wipe out their home of Sera. Gears of War 4 launches on October 11th.
