Gears Of War 4 Launch Trailer Highlights Family Ties, Implores You To ‘Never Fight Alone’
Marcus Fenix, voiced by John DiMaggio, remarks that he and his Delta Squad restored peace to Sera twenty five years ago. Fenix notes that now however, “those we love have been taken and everything changed.” The Swarm now threatens Sera, so Fenix’s son JD and his friends Del and Kait must fight together to prevent their world from being torn apart. Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters,” performed by Lissie, plays in the background as JD, Del, and Kait fight some pretty gnarly monsters.
The first Gears of War 4 trailer was released this past April. Disturbed’s cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Sounds of Silence” provided the backdrop for an emotional look back at the blissful childhood of new protagonist J.D. Fenix. The trailer was warmly received even by Disturbed lead singer David Draiman, who said that it gave him chills.
Gears of War 4 is an Xbox Play Anywhere title and will therefore be available on both the Xbox One and Windows 10. Players will be able to team up across platforms, while game progress, Gamerscore, and Achievements will be available through Xbox Live.
Gears of War 4 will even include a few PC-specific optimizations, features and benchmarking tools. 4K resolution will even be enabled for Windows 10.
