NVIDIA Eyes $150 Billion Annual Taiwan Investment To Fuel Surging AI Demand

NVIDIA is aggressively cementing its dominance in the artificial intelligence landscape by dramatically escalating its fiscal and physical footprint in Taiwan. Ahead of the upcoming GTC Taipei and Computex 2026 tech shows, CEO Jensen Huang announced a massive strategy bump that binds the company's future tightly to the island's advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Speaking in Taipei at a company-wide convention launching a fancy new office campus, Huang revealed that NVIDIA plans to invest a mind-blowing $150 billion annually in the country. This figure (that trumps more than half of the world countries' annual GDP) marks a leap from 'just' the $10 to $15 billion the company spent on the island just four to five years ago, and a substantial hike from its recent $100 billion annual run rate. Huang explicitly justified the financial deluge by declaring Taiwan the "epicenter of the AI revolution," noting that it is the birthplace of advanced chips, complex packaging, server systems, and AI supercomputers.

To anchor this capital deployment, Huang unveiled NVIDIA’s latest campus, named Constellation. Spanning nearly four hectares in northern Taipei’s Beitou-Shilin Technology Park, the facility is modeled after the company’s Santa Clara headquarters and is engineered to become one of the largest AI research and development hubs in the Asia-Pacific region. Designed to house roughly 4,000 engineers, Constellation is strategically positioned to facilitate intense co-engineering and deep partnership with Taiwan's core technology ecosystem.
You can already guess that this financial-structural expansion is fueled by an insatiable global appetite for AI hardware, which recently propelled NVIDIA’s quarterly revenue to a record-breaking $81.6 billion. The manufacturing strain of delivering the next-generation Vera Rubin platform—a highly complex, six-chip system requiring nearly two million individual parts—has made local supply chains more critical than ever. To wit, in order to secure the required silicon, Huang has already begun high-level coordination dinners with TSMC CEO Dr. C.C. Wei.
Beyond foundational chips, Huang emphasized that NVIDIA’s next frontier is physical AI, which is expected to fundamentally transform global manufacturing. Thus by injecting the pledged amount directly into Taiwanese infrastructure, NVIDIA is ensuring its supply-chain partners possess the necessary tools required to build the next evolution in automated factories and industrial robotics.
