Mojang Conjures Up A Marvelous Fallout 4 Mash-Up for Minecraft, Yes!
If you're both a Minecraft and Fallout fan, then we're pretty sure that you've just received the coolest holiday gift ever. Bethesda has teamed up with Mojang to deliver a $5.99 DLC pack for all console versions, which is in effect a total conversion: Minecraft with a fresh coat of post-nuclear paint.
Here's how the developer sells it:
Working in the depths of their bunker complex, our artists and builders have been busy blasting Minecraft’s glorious overworld into an irradiated wasteland fit for Fallout fans to wander. Friendly cows, gently sauteed in the light of a thousand suns, have now sprouted second heads, while the familiar supersized spiders have made way for other overgrown arachnids, who scuttle through the dark wielding brutal stingers.
If that doesn't make you want to hop right in, we're not sure what to tell you. This DLC pack includes an impressive 44 character skins, all based on Fallout characters, including Fawkes, Nick Valentine, Tinker Tom, and of course, Vault Boy!
The shot above shows off all of the DLC's blocks and objects, giving users an interesting palette to work with. Pictured in the shots below, many Fallout-esque enemies will be greeting you as you explore the post-apocalyptic landscape.
Considering the fact that Minecraft is huge on the PC, it's a bit odd to see this DLC pack excluded there. It could be assumed that the reason for the omission is that the PC version of the game has such rich mod support anyway, but even so: PC support would have been nice.
When the pack becomes available over the next few days, it will sell for $5.99 and be made available on the PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
