LG Launches Fireweb, Its First Firefox Phone
Though LG wasn't the first to market with a Firefox phone, the Fireweb is the first one that boasts an LED flash for its 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus. Other features include a 4-inch display with a 480x320 resolution, 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 4GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD), Bluetooth, Wi-iFi, GPS, 3G connectivity, and 1540mAh battery.
The handset measures 113.8mm by 66.5mm by 9mm and weighs 122g. On the software side, it's shipping with the latest version of Mozilla's mobile OS, Firefox OS 1.1. All things considered, it's not a bad device for an unlocked, entry-level handset.
Vivo Brazil is making the phone immediately available for 449 Brazilian reals, or about $205 in U.S. currency, for pay-as-you-go customers. Regular subscribers can purchase the handset for 129 Brazilian reals, or about $59.
