HP Announces Ryzen Pro-Powered EliteBook 705 G5 And ProBook 645 G4 Laptops
HP unveiled a handful of new business-class laptops today, all of which sport AMD Ryzen Pro mobile processors with onboard Radeon Vega graphics underneath the hood. The new offerings falls under the EliteBook 700 G5 and ProBook 600 G4 product banners, which are available in a variety of sizes and configurations. These are all premium built laptops with relatively thin and light designs.
Starting with the former, HP's new EliteBook 735 G5 is a 13.3-inch laptop with a Full HD 1080p IPS display. It's offered with three different processor options, those being an AMD Ryzen 3 2300U, Ryzen 5 2500U, or Ryzen 7 2700U, along with up to 32GB of DDR4-2400 RAM. There are multiple storage options as well, consisting of a 128GB or 256GB SATA SSD, 512GB M.2 SATA SSD, or 256GB or 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD.
HP is also offering larger variants with similar configuration options—the new EliteBook 745 G5 is a 14-inch laptop, and the EliteBook 755 G5 stretches things out to 15.6 inches. The 13.3-inch and 14-inch models both measure just 0.70 inches thick and weight 2.94 and 3.37 pounds, respectively, while the 15.6-inch model is just a hair thicker at 0.72 inches and weighs 4.09 pounds. All three also offer an optional privacy camera and optional LTE connectivity.
As for the ProBook 600 G4 series, it's similar in style to the EliteBook 700 series, but more durable with a chassis designed to pass MIL-STD 810G testing. It's also a bit thicker and heavier as a result. There are two 14-inch models, the ProBook 640 G4 and ProBook 645 G4, both measuring 0.83 inches at the waist and weighing 3.8 pounds, and a 15.6-inch ProBook 650 G4 model that measures 0.95 inches and weighs 4.8 pounds.
All of the new ProBook models come with the same processor, graphics, and RAM options as the EliteBook SKUs, but up the storage ante with up to 1TB.
Pricing for the EliteBooks start at $999, while the ProBooks start at $759.
