Google, Motorola Seek Ban on Apple Devices in the U.S.
"We would like to settle these patent matters, but Apple's unwillingness to work out a license leaves us little choice but to defend ourselves and our engineers' innovations," Motorola Mobility told Bloomberg in an email.
Among the list of alleged patent violations is Siri, Apple's popular voice recognition program that was (and continues to be) a centerpiece of the iPhone 4S device's marketing campaign. Other patents cover things like email notification and location reminders.
As is common with these types of cases, Motorola is seeking a ban on its competitors products in the U.S., including the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and even Mac systems.
