Hardware manufacturers and resellers have been known to
inadvertently tip upcoming and unannounced releases, and for a moment, it looked
Gigabyte had done exactly that. To promote the launch of NVIDIA's RTX graphics cards, the company advertised that anyone who purchased an Aorus GeForce RTX 2070 Ti or
GeForce RTX 2070 would receive a limited edition
Aorus t-shirt for free. The only problem is the GeForce RTX 2070 Ti does not exist.
No, seriously, it doesn't actually exist, not even in secret, Gigabyte said in a Reddit thread devoted to the topic. While it initially seemed that Gigabyte accidentally revealed an upcoming
RTX model, the company is adamant that it was just a typo, not a slip-up.

"Can confirm this is a typo, sorry guys," a spokesperson for Gigabyte said. "A couple things—first no such card exists (seriously!). Second if you don't believe me and think it does exist look at the typical turn around for high end models... Aorus cards usually come 1-2 weeks after the launch of the Gigabyte cards (i.e., Gaming OC, Windforce.) This promotion ends Nov 15th. That means in less than a month you would see a new card, never before even rumored, then the high end variant, all in the next 30 days. Not to mention that 30 days includes SKUing up and selling in what appears to be Singapore, a market that again usually lags behind in on the shelf availability."
There are two ways to look at this. One is that the Gigabyte rep is really driving the point home, and what he says makes logical sense. Hence, there is no GeForce RTX 2070 Ti on the immediate horizon. The other angle is to borrow a line from Queen Gertrude in Shakespeare's Hamlet, "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
Or the truth could be somewhere in between. It seems like an inevitability that a GeForce RTX 2070 Ti will materialize at some point, though as Gigabyte points out, it's not likely to happen before the freebie t-shirt offer ends. Maybe Gigabyte knows that a GeForce RTX 2070 Ti SKU is on the roadmap, and it was accidentally added to the promo banner.
That said, the GeForce RTX 2070 (non-TI) does exist, and hey, you can get a free t-shirt with purchase of an Aorus model.
